Memorial to Rebecca

'Nor do I doubt but that this country will prove the most valuable acquisition Great Britain ever made.' Governor Arthur Phillip (1783-1792)         'Had I permitted myself any innovation upon the original term, it would have been to convert it into Australia, as being more agreeable to the ear and an assimilation to the other great portions of the earth.' Matthew Flinders on naming New Holland Terra Australis

Welcome to the 'History' section of Tracing our History. Tracing our History is a genealogical site that is concerned with collaborative research into my/our family history. It is already concerned with history - but I am also very interested in the study of other areas of world history also. This section of the site will host content that is of interest to me in other areas of world history. Some of these other areas include the Roman Empire, the US Civil War, English history, Australian history and so on.

This particular page will act as a directory to content on this site of an historical nature - away from my research into our family history.

It also has links to works that I have found helpful on the subjects being covered. Many of these are works hosted at the Internet Archive and that I have a copy of in my own library. Many of these works I began to place on my site but found them present in the Internet Archive and decided it was no longer necessary for me to do so. Some may be placed on the site in PDF format in the future.

CHRONOLOGICAL HISTORY LISTING

The link here is to another page on the site that has a chronological listing of the works listed on this page. It is an attempt to list the content I host here according to the chronology of the history it deals with. It is a listing that is something of a timeline of history.
